Position Paper for Smart Data in Health Care

During the National IT-Summit 2015, on the platform “Innovative Digitalization of Science” the “Position Paper for the main topic of Smart Data in Health Care” was introduced for the first time by the project group Smart Cities/Regions in the focus group of intelligent networking.

Against the background of an aging society and rapidly growing amounts of data (Big Data) the position paper takes a look at the special opportunities (e.g., Smart Data) as well as the challenges for health care. These include growing cost pressure vs. higher expectations for services or the question regarding the necessity of standardization during the networking of sectors.

The summit is an annual meeting place for leaders in politics, ITK-economy and science and took place in Berlin for the first time on November 18th/19th 2015.

The summit has the goal of improving the framework conditions for the digital economy as well as digital society.
